Pokimane: One of the most popular and well-liked broadcasters on Twitch, Imane “Pokimane” Anys, has taken the decision to depart the platform that helped make her famous. On January 30, she posted a promotional photo of her face on the Twitch app along with an announcement of her leaving on X, the former Twitter. It was “the end of an era,” she remarked, and she expressed her gratitude to her admirers for their support.

Pokimane established her Twitch channel in 2014 after beginning to stream in 2012. Since then, she has amassed over 9.3 million followers on the platform, making her one of the most well-known users. In addition to her abilities in games like League of Legends, Fortnite, and Among Us, she is well-known for her vivacious and funny demeanour.

She has also faced some controversies, such as when she apologized for calling a viewer a “broke boy” over a cookie product she was promoting in November 2023.

Why Pokimane left Twitch?

Pokimane stated that she was quitting Twitch in order to pursue her dream of being a more independent and enjoyable video maker. She claimed that Twitch’s contract was “messy” and that she didn’t want to be “emotionally invested in the changes” the platform was making to artistic nudity. As a result, she refused to sign it. She said that she would now stream on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, among other channels.

In response to Pokimane’s statement, Twitch congratulated her on her “incredible journey,” expressed their excitement for her future, and expressed pride in her accomplishments. Pokimane had previously expressed her displeasure with Twitch, stating in September 2022 that she intended to stream less and utilise other platforms more because it was no longer “creatively fulfilling.” Although she has been more active on other social media, she has not streamed on Twitch since January 26.

Pokimane also disclosed on X that she will debut on YouTube on February 1 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time. She’ll compete as a team in games like Codenames, League of Legends, and Valorant alongside Ludwig and other well-known streamers.

One hundred gift subscriptions will be given to the winning team. Pokimane’s admirers are excitedly anticipating both her YouTube debut and her next attempts on other platforms.
