Kung Fu Panda 4 Release Date: Dreamworks’ Kung Fu Panda 4 marked the occasion of its impending release by releasing the first official trailer. Jack Black reprises one of his renowned voiceover roles in the first Kung Fu Panda film since 2016’s Kung Fu Panda 3, following his prominent performances in The Mandalorian and The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023. With the new sequel receiving the same official PG classification as its three predecessors in January 2024, the stage was set for yet another exciting and adventurous journey featuring Black’s white-and-black warrior.
New Kung Fu Panda 4 Release Date
Dreamworks released the first official trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4 and revealed the sequel’s release date through X.
The video, which doesn’t contain much language, features Jack Black’s Po and Awkwafina’s Zhen emerging out a manhole together in an attempt to slink past a horde of slumbering lizards.
They approach with complete lack of tact, making loud noise after loud noise, and when Zhen covers up one of Po’s sneezes, it turns into a fart and wakes up the lizards that are sleeping.
How Will Kung Fu Panda 4 Perform in Theaters?
Regretfully, Dreamworks has formidable competition when Kung Fu Panda 4 hits theatres on March 8.
On February 14, Sony Pictures will release Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web, while Paramount will release Bob Marley: One Love, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir, on the same day.
Denis Villeneuve’s much awaited Dune: Part Two, which opens one week before Kung Fu Panda 4, will still pose the bigger threat because it is aiming to capitalise on the success of the previous film by playing in IMAX theatres.
After Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski’s IF, Jack Black’s next animated blockbuster will take centre stage. On March 22, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Ghostbusters will make a comeback to theatres.
It will already have certain disadvantages at the box office due to its animated form, especially because big-budget films like Dune: Part 2 are probably still in the running.
But with the first three films earning between $520 million and $660 million at the box office from 2010 to 2016 (according to The Numbers), this new release has a good possibility of becoming an unexpected smash with families and younger audiences.
On March 8, Kung Fu Panda 4 will open in theatres.
Kung Fu Panda 4 Plot
Stephani Ma Stine and Mike Mitchell co-direct Kung Fu Panda 4. After contributing to the Shrek trilogy as a director for Shrek Forever After and a story artist for the second and third films, Mitchell is now working with DreamWorks Animation on a new project. In addition, he directed the films Trolls (2016), The Lego Movie 2 (2019), and Sky High (2005). Jack Black, who plays Dragon Warrior Po in School of Rock, will once again be in the lead role. The Golden Globe nominee most recently returned to his legendary role in Netflix’s Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight series prior to the fourth chapter.
Returning voice actors Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, Ian McShane as Tai Lung, James Hong as Mr. Ping, and Bryan Cranston as Li Shan will also be seen in Kung Fu Panda 4 in addition to Black. Along with Golden Globe winner Awkwafina as a fox named Zhen, they will be joined by franchise newcomers Viola Davis as a nasty shape-shifting witch named The Chameleon and Ke Huy Quan as the leader of den thieves Han.
