Deadpool 3 Release And More: Wade Wilson, popularly known as Deadpool, and often referred to as the Merc with a Mouth, initially appeared in the criticized film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Despite the overall reception, one highlight was the recognition that Ryan Reynolds was an excellent fit for the character. Fans eagerly anticipated seeing him in the iconic red suit, delivering the fourth-wall-breaking humor characteristic of Deadpool in the comics. Finally, after seven years, the first Deadpool film was out in 2016, followed by Deadpool 2 in 2018. Both movies achieved significant success, ranking among the highest-grossing R-rated films, with only Joker surpassing them.
In the ongoing Multiverse Saga within the MCU, the return of stars and characters from previous continuities and alternate universes has become a common occurrence. However, when Ryan Reynolds shared an update on Deadpool 3 via his YouTube Channel, he made a surprising revelation.
Deadpool 3 Release
In a surprising turn of events, the release date for Deadpool 3 has been moved up to May 4, 2024. This marks a four-month advancement from its initial release date. The film’s release date has undergone several changes in the past. The initial date was September 6, 2024, then it was November 8, 2024. Subsequently, the release date was May 2024 but faced another adjustment due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
On July 14, 2023, production on Deadpool 3 halted as actors and writers participated in a historic strike. Although both strikes are over, the final release date changed again. Deadpool 3 will now hit theaters on July 26, 2023.
Does ‘Deadpool 3’ Take Place in the MCU?
Indeed, Deadpool 3 is a Marvel Studios production, and Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, has officially confirmed its inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, this doesn’t necessarily imply that the entire film will unfold entirely within the MCU. Given the ongoing Multiverse Saga, as evidenced by the incorporation of characters from Sam Raimi’s and Marc Webb’s Spider-Man films in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Deadpool 3 might similarly involve characters from the 20th Century timelines crossing over with the MCU timeline. As of now, specific plot details remain shrouded in mystery, and only time will reveal the extent of the crossover and the narrative direction taken by the film.
