Bridgerton Season 3: Happy holidays to all our readers! Also, happy Bridgerton anniversary! Three years ago on Christmas Day, Netflix premiered the Regency romance drama “Bridgerton,” which became a massive success. In celebration of the anniversary, Netflix has a special gift for Bridgerton fans.
Season 3 will focus on the love story between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). It has been quietly simmering since Season 1. The new images prominently feature Colin and Penelope at a ball, with Colin sporting a mysterious hand injury. The season’s poster highlights Penelope, peeking through a mirror, hinting at a scene from the Julia Quinn novel “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” on which this season is based.
The images also showcase Season 2’s fan-favorite couple, Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), now happily married. Additionally, viewers get a first look at Hannah Dodd, taking over the role of Francesca Bridgerton, along with her onscreen siblings Hyacinth (Florence Hunt), Eloise (Claudia Jesse), Gregory (Will Tilston), and Benedict (Luke Thompson), and family matriarch Violet (Ruth Gemmell). Season 3 will also feature the return of Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), although they are not seen in the new images.
About Bridgerton Season 3
Known for its departures from the sources, each season of Bridgerton has featured one of the titular siblings finding love. Season 3 will be particularly special for fans who have followed Colin and Penelope’s journey for two seasons. Fans are eagerly hoping they will overcome obstacles and take the next step in their relationship. According to Netflix, the official synopsis for Season 3 reads:
“From Shondaland and new showrunner, Jess Brownell, Bridgerton is back for its third season and finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly.
Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season.
But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.” – BRIDGERTON SEASON 3
